Prepping for our first Valentine’s in Little House

The culmination of many, many hours of cutting

Many, many hearts were cut during the evening of February 4, 2011.  I’m not even sure how many, but it took several hours, and my scissors felt rather dull by the end – but the end product was well worth the couple hours spent working on it.  I really, really wanted it to be a surprise for the kids, so while Little S was out playing, I brought out the hot glue gun, and got to work putting the hearts onto the ribbon. About halfway through, it became necessary to put a felt heart on each side of the ribbon, to keep it from being too top heavy.

Here’s the finished product, two lines of hearts, strung across the bedroom ceiling. Let Valentine’s begin, we’re ready.

The room was a little dark by the time it was up, but the kids were happy nonetheless.
